Chemical peel for sun damage before and after: Despite the availability of modalities such as laser, PRP, microneedling and more for sun damage, chemical peels remain a popular treatment for conditions such as sun damage and more. TCA peels are very effective, but selection of the right patient type is important. This type of chemical peel is better for patients with lighter skin types. TCA peels can be done on patients with darker skin but may require pretreatment with hydroquinone to prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Unlike more superficial peels that have little to no downtimes, TCA peels may have more significant down time. As you see in the example below, however, the results are also significant–even after only one treatment.
