Remarkable Hair Regrowth in a Non-Compliant Patient: One Alma TED Treatment for CCCA
Significant Results — Even Without Completing the Full Treatment Plan
This case documents an impressive outcome in a non-compliant patient with Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA) — a progressive scarring alopecia that can cause permanent, irreversible hair loss when left untreated.
At the time of her first visit, she was managing her CCCA with a combination topical steroid and topical minoxidil regimen. She then underwent a single Alma TED hair restoration treatment to help stimulate hair regrowth and reduce scalp inflammation.
The after photos were taken four months later.

What Makes This a Non-Compliant Patient Case
This patient did not follow the recommended treatment protocol. Between her Alma TED session and her follow-up, she stopped all prescribed topical medications, did not return for the recommended series of three Alma TED treatments, and had no additional sessions of any kind.
Despite full non-compliance, she still achieved noticeable, visible hair regrowth — making this one of the more compelling non-compliant patient outcomes we have documented.
Why Alma TED May Work Even in a Single Session
Alma TED delivers growth factors transdermally using ultrasound energy and air pressure, bypassing the need for needles or injections. This mechanism drives active ingredients into the scalp to support follicular health and create a more favorable environment for regrowth.
In scarring alopecias like CCCA, some follicles remain viable if inflammation is addressed before permanent fibrotic destruction occurs. Even one session appears to have shifted the inflammatory environment enough in this patient to produce measurable regrowth — a finding consistent with the mechanism of growth factor-based therapies.
To be clear: we would expect substantially better and more sustained results in a compliant patient who completes the full three-session series and continues prescribed medications. This non-compliant patient result represents a floor, not a ceiling.
The Importance of Early Treatment for CCCA
CCCA disproportionately affects Black women and often goes undiagnosed until significant scarring has already occurred. Because the hair loss is eventually permanent, early intervention matters. Patients noticing crown thinning, scalp tenderness, progressive breakage, or a widening part should seek evaluation from a board-certified dermatologist promptly.

Individual results vary. This case documents an exceptional non-compliant patient outcome and is not representative of typical results. Optimal outcomes are achieved when patients complete the full recommended series and adhere to prescribed therapies.
