CCCA before and after – in New York, NY

CCCA, or central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia, is a type of scarring hair loss.  This condition is a more common type of hair loss in African Americans. It characteristically starts as hair thinning on the crown of the scalp that spreads out.  Untreated CCCA can cause permanent balding. CCCA is associated with a history or tight hair styles. People with diabetes, fibroids and keloids are more vulnerable to developing this condition. This patient initially tried medical treatment of her CCCA with limited results. She decided to undergo hair restoration with three treatments with Alma Ted. This hair restoration procedure, which uses ultrasound to drive plant-based growth factors into the hair follicles, is known for being noninvasive and involving no needles, blood, or pain. Alma TED is FDA-cleared for androgenetic alopecia, however, it can still be a useful too in treating other types of alopecia. This photo of the patient shows her hair in braids.
