Many of us were deeply touched by the events at the Golden Globe Awards in which the women, and men, of Hollywood, wore black in solidarity with the victims, and survivors, or sexual harassment, assault, and discrimination in and outside of their industry. I was so personally touched, it inspired to me to wear black the following day, and share some of my own testimony on some of the hurdles I faced personally and professionally as woman, a woman in medicine, and a woman of color.
But once the hashtags stop trending, and the media hype is over, there is much work to continue in our journey toward gender equality in, and outside, the work place.
Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund’s Mission:
“Powered by women, TIME’S UP addresses the systemic inequality and injustice in the workplace that have kept underrepresented groups from reaching their full potential. We partner with leading advocates for equality and safety to improve laws, employment agreements, and corporate policies; help change the face of corporate boardrooms and the C-suite; and enable more women and men to access our legal system to hold wrongdoers accountable”
Time’s up for sexual harassment and gender discrimination. Equality and justice is something we can get behind. Join us in donating to Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund.
