Young skin has a strong meshwork of collagen protein fibers under the surface. That collagen gives your visible complexion a strong, smooth foundation. Over time, though, your body produces less collagen, allowing skin to become lax and sag. You may have believed that a surgical facelift was your only alternative for a firmer more youthful face. Today, Dr. Dina Strachan and her aesthetic team at Aglow Dermatology bring you an effective, non-surgical option called Pellevé®.
Using radiofrequency technology, Pellevé heats the deep layers of the skin without disturbing the epidermis or top layer. The thermal activity triggers a definite response in collagen, resulting in immediate lift. Pellevé also stimulates additional production of collagen for firmer skin, so you have a refreshed appearance, long term. Tone and texture continue to improve for up to six months.
The majority of reasonably healthy patients are good candidates for Pellevé treatment, to address:
No preparation is required, except to drink a little extra water. Sessions typically take 30 to 60 minutes. You may return to work or other activities immediately after a Pellevé treatment and wear cosmetics. You should, however, wear a broad spectrum sunscreen for daily complexion protection. You may experience mild swelling or redness, but it resolves quickly, within two to 24 hours.
Contact Aglow at 212-627-1004 to schedule a consultation with Dr. Strachan, to determine if Pellevé is right for you.
