Dr. Strachan (pronounced 'strawn') is a board certified dermatologist in private practice in New York City who specializes in medical dermatology.
After graduating from Harvard College and Yale Medical School, she did her residency training at the University of California, San Francisco. Known for her excellence in teaching she went on to become Director of Resident Education at King/Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles, and join the faculty of UCLA.
Dr. Strachan says:
"I can think of many reasons that I became a dermatologist. Dermatologists have specialized knowledge that allows them to provide a service to patients as well as physicians in other specialties. I wanted to have the opportunity to work with all types of patients and get to use my mind as well as my hands."
Dr. Strachan is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Strachan is published and has spoken both nationally and internationally on a variety of topics in dermatology. She is active in both professional and civic organizations. Dr. Strachan was a recipient of the "Forty Under 40" Achievement Award from the Network Journal in 2003.
