#29/31 Days of Giving- St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – Musings of an NYC Dermatologist

When I first put out a query to get some ideas for organizations to include in this giving practice, many people requested that I include St Jude Children’s Hospital. Well known for its celebrity endorsements, particularly of its later founder, Danny Thomas, and his daughter, Marlo, St Jude has an excellent reputation for using donations for the population being served, children battling life-threatening diseases and their families, rather than “administrative costs.” No one is denied care because of inability to pay. Dealing with a condition such as cancer, involves more than just the medical bills. People may miss work. They may have to travel and find lodging and more expensive prepared meals. They may need support with housework and other family members. Part of this organization’s mission is to allow families to be able to focus on supporting their child in recovery rather than these other expenses. That is why today Aglow Dermatology shows gratitude to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for the beautiful work that they do. Join us! www.stjude.org
